What is the difference between Black and Ceramic Coatings? PDF Print E-mail

The difference is that the ceramic coating is a shiny chrome colored look, compared to the standard black paint. The benefit of the ceramic is that it will hold heat in your pipe longer and keep a crisp throttle response, with less bogging and better acceleration.

Will I need to re-jet when I install my Big Volume Pipe and Can? PDF Print E-mail

The general answer is simple, No. Our high airflow design allows you to put your Big Volume product on and get riding. Most sleds come at least one jet size rich and our Big Volume Pipe flows so much air through the engine that it optimizes the fuel ratio found on those stock-set ups. This creates the ideal setup for an aggressive trail rider, high torque when you want it and crisp throttle response out of the corner and down the straights. However, as noted in our set up sheets, included with your Big Volume Pipe, Canadians and lake runners should jet two sizes richer. This is primarily due to the low octane gas found in Canada and the sustained pulls of lake running.

Does it matter that I have DPM? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator2

Ski-Doo's Digital Performance Management system, DPM, is a simple, automatic tuning device within the stock sled that makes the fine adjustments to fuel flow based on ambient temperature and altitude measurements. Think of this as your mechanic in a black box. On a long day's ride, the temperature can change by as much as 30 degrees. While your buddy's old Polaris sled is blubbering away under the heat, your DPM has automatically adjusted the fuel flow rate for you and you're still crisp. DPM isn't anything to be afraid of, its your friend. Since our Big Volume Pipes and Cans don't require any jetting changes to achieve their maximum performance gains, they are ideally suited for any Ski-Doo sled, regardless of the DPM or standard carburetion.

Will Dyno Port products work with SDI? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator2
Tuesday, 10 October 2006 18:15

The Semi-Direct Injection technology was unveiled by Ski-Doo in their 2003 model line. The system injects fuel into the transfer ports instead of introducing it into the crank case through the carbs, the way a standard sled engine works. It keeps fuel in the cylinder, not out the exhaust! Our Big Volume Pipes and Cans will work with the SDI engines because our fuel flow rates are similar to the map Ski-Doo put into the SDI system. As we start working on the ports and raising compression, the fuel flow rate goes up, resulting in the need for a richer fuel ratio. We have solved this dilemma by utilizing a proven, adjustable fuel management system. Simply put, the Fuel manager allows you to add extra fuel these modified engines require without losing the low emissions benefit of SDI.

What's the deal with Dyno Port clutch kits? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator2

We've learned a few things about clutching and clutch kits over the years that we'd like to pass along to you:

  1. Nothing replaces good old-fashioned testing and taking notes.
  2. We aim our clutch kits at aggressive trail riding, delivering strong acceleration for straight-line running and solid back-shift for corner to corner action.
  3. Second-rate components deliver second rate performance. We use Dalton Industries components in our clutch kits and Dalton in our race sleds and they have distinguished themselves as high quality parts. We thought you'd appreciate having the same quality in your own sled.
  4. Every clutch kit doesn't have to have a helix, springs and weights or ramps. If a stock piece proves the best in combination, we don't think you should have to buy the identical piece as part of a kit. That's what sets us apart from some of our competitors and that's why there is some variation in our clutch kit pricing.

What They're Saying...

“We’ve used several Dyno Port exhaust systems over the years, with consistent power gains and weight reductions in each case. And in each case, those products fit like they were made at the factory!”
Kevin Beilke,
Snow Tech Magazine

“Three things we can always count on when a Dyno Port product comes to our shop are that it will be well-built; it will deliver the performance improvement it promises; and it will be simple to install without jetting hassles.”
Shane Zeppelin,
